The breed of dog Beagle is a medium sized or small dog,
and it is a member of the Hound Group. Its little similar to the
Foxhound, but it smaller. The legs are shorter and the ears are longer
and softer. In appearance the Beagles are scent hounds, developed
primarily for tracking hare, rabbit, and other game. Their keen sense of
smell and tracking instinct are made them perfect police dog and also a
good companion all around the world. As a temperament, Beagles are
intelligent. As a pet they are so popular because of the size of the
body, even temper, and lack of inherited health problems. These
characteristics also make them the dog of choice for animal testing.
